SUTRAK has a clear objective of making a positive contribution to the environment by reducing the carbon footprint we leave. ACE™ systems are the most environmentally responsible choice for transit bus HVAC.

Noise pollution is a major topic for today’s transit bus. Scroll compressors operate at such low decibel levels that they are virtually unnoticeable when compared to traditional reciprocating compressors. With adjustable hertz levels, the operating noise (airflow) can also be lowered to match customer needs. Roof mount systems offer the lowest internal decibel readings.

Internal Noise Reduction

SUTRAK’s Shore Power option enables the ACE™ unit to connect to a grid power. When hooked up to an external power supply, the bus HVAC can operate without engaging the engine. This feature eliminates idling and associated fuel consumption, harmful emissions, and external engine noise.

Shore Power

Reducing the parasitic engine load improves acceleration and reduces engine wear. Our flagship product is the ACE234DL Series which comes with a dual compressor, dual circuit design that allows for full power during high demand hours, and reduced 50% power during non-peak needs. The parasitic load on the engine is 15HP at full power and is reduced to 9HP during non-peak hours. Compare with the 28-33+ HP needed for open-type reciprocating compressors and alternators, the improved fuel economy is self-evident. Similar savings are present on articulated bus installations.

Fuel Efficiency

Reduced Greenhouse gas emissions come in two forms. First, there is a directly proportional reduction in engine emissions with relation to fuel savings. Next, the technology decreases normal and accidental HFC (hydrofluorocarbons) discharge. Traditionally, bus HFC emissions result from one or more of the following:

Green Technology

copperloops

open-type reciprocating compressors (shaft seals)

connections (fittings, brazes, joints)

flexible refrigerant hose (permeation)

regular and routine maintenance requirements (opening the system)

Since ACE™ systems reduce or eliminate these unintentional HFC releases, some industry analysts estimate up to a ten-fold reduction in life-cycle emissions with this technology. ACE™ systems save maintenance time and money while protecting the environment by mitigating these faulty conditions.
